Services Included With Membership
■ Access to volunteers who provide assistance with many needs, including:
- Grocery store and pharmacy runs for members who are unable to leave
their homes.
- Help with confusing electronics and minor maintenance, such as changing
light bulbs.
- Companionship in your home.
- Dog walking, and mail retrieval while on vacation.
- Any reasonable request with which a member needs assistance.
■ Transportation arrangements by appointment
- Hospital and doctor-prescribed rides.
- Rides to visit friends and to attend social functions.
■ Social and cultural activities
- Free social events offer opportunities to create new friendships and
keep
in touch with existing friends.
■ Household tasks and services
- Assistance in understanding benefits, entitlements and community
services.
- Daily check-in calls, if requested.
- Storm preparedness activities.
■ Volunteer opportunities
- Providing help to other Neighborhood Connections members offers
fulfillment and new friendships.
■ Vendor referral and guidance for a wide range of services
- All vendors are recommended by members and pre-screened by
Neighborhood Connections.
- Member satisfaction is measured by follow-up surveys
- Members are provided with assistance in resolving disputes.
■ Merchant Discount Program (coming soon)
- Discounts for restaurants and many products and services used every
day.
Fee-based Services
When Neighborhood Connections volunteers are not available or capable
of providing the services a member needs, we will provide a list of pre-screened
vendors and help members arrange for the desired services.
Customer satisfaction is tracked, and if necessary, Neighborhood Connections
will work with members to resolve disputes.
■ Transportation
- Individual rides to places members need to go—including doctors’ visits,
the airport, socializing with friends, cultural and sporting events, and
more.
- Group transportation to special events.
■ Home repair and adaptation
- Contractor, electrician, plumber and handyman services.
- Landscaping and snow removal services.
- Home safety assessments.
■ Household tasks and personal services
- Cleaning, cooking, organizing and other household tasks.
- Computer and home electronics assistance.
- Bill paying and financial organization.
- Pet walking.
- In-home hair styling.
- In-home meal preparation and meal delivery.
■ Health and wellness
- Physical therapy, therapeutic massage and similar services.
- Home healthcare services.
■ Professional services
- Assistance in legal and financial matters.
- Arrangements for medical equipment.
- Geriatric care management.
